This is the first doll I designed....I enjoyed the venture and ended up giving it to a very special friend. I'm planning on designing more people and animal figures.

It is well known that crocheting has a calming effect and helps to relieve stress.

It was believed that crocheting helped Queen Victoria cope with the death of her husband.

During the last year of her life, Queen Victoria crocheted eight scarves, given as an award, for her most distinguished soldiers serving in South Africa. These scarfs became known as "the Queen's Scarf". They measured 5 feet long and were worn as sashes over the shoulder and buckled on the opposite hip.

Note.....One of these scarves is on display at the Canadian War Museum.

Susie.....she has fun fur hair, 3-ply jute head and hands and discarded fabric for her clothes and shoes. She was such fun to create.

We don't stop playing because we grow old;

we grow old because we stop

PLAYING.

It's often hard for me to believe that I'm 78 years old, as I have so much I want to do. Oops...I had a birthday....I'm 79!

When I think of age, I like to think of what Thomas Jefferson wrote....."If you want something you never had, you have to do something you've never done."

NOW...let's do something that we've never done before.....It might be FUN!
